Roughly one year since Bika Open Source LIMS 4 development plans revolved one last round and the coder cats started migrating to Senaite, among others a massive fork to bridge

Other gravitated, levitated, in and across, back, away, around, under no direct management, herded by passion, governed by meritocracy, empowered with freedom, born in anarchy, and no evidence of remotely corresponding financial reward...

Apart from, after an historic 15 years, having the privilege to experience such an invigorating shift first-hand, what could go wrong?

What went wrong

A lot could've one supposes, nothing did. And the outcomes are already awesome. For a return well worth it, clients and users had to wait a bit longer

Advancing Professional Open Source LIMS

The code has never moved ahead this fast, with the occasional functional detour - regular releases, and reaching the robust levels of Gaob Bika LIMS 3.1

Senaite is far from done - is software ever - yet the results are truly impressive. Inheriting Bika ISO 17025 ready functionality, then added too, cleaned up - some clutter and to be improved UI and functions remain, as always - and quite significant performance improvements

I can say this on the back of two extensive acceptance testing sessions graphed below from inhouse tracking. It did keep our coders busy though!

Issues were resolved quickly, mainly bug fixes of existing code being dusted off

A proper clean-out of the tracker will resolve more issues that got superseded and fixed in The Process. More latent bugs will try their luck too
