How to add new Patients to the LIMS and edit existing ones

Patient lists

Patients can be added to the global Patients list or for a care giving Client. Use the Client list if access to the record must be restricted of that particular Client

Navigate to the list and press [+Add]. If you want to edit an existing Patient, find it and click to open the Patient’s pages

The Patient’s identification parameters are captured on this page:

Most importantly, the Patient’s Medical Record Number which is used throughout the organisation to uniquely identify Patients with

More identifiers can be captured for the Patient - select them from the list offered and type in

Enable Email results report if the patient needs to be copied with his/her results certificate

Capture the Patient’s names, sex at birth, current gender identity. Ditto Marital Status and Date of Birth

Race and Ethnicity

If applicable, select a race and ethnicity for the Patient from the options configured earlier

Email and Phone

Capture the Patients's primary email address and telephone numbers, as well as any additional one he/she might have

Client share

On this tab the user can select the Care giving institutions, Bika LIMS Clients, will have access to the Patients's records
