Background

In some lab disciplines it makes sense to group Sample Points - the places where samples are taken - together per Location for easier management and reporting

This function is important for labs managing many Clients and their Sample Points. For example in water quality management where a client location, say a building, industrial facility or town, may have a number of points where samples are collected

It also has applications in healthcare - sample points on a patient's body with Location 'At home', 'Clinic' etc. and further afield in Tribology labs, monitoring machinery condition via samples taken from a number of Sample Points

Each location has a manager, a contact at the client, who is copied in outgoing results COAs for that Location

LIMS Implementation

It is expected that the introduction of LIMS will significantly improve turnaround times for water treatment and preventative actions, and make reporting and administration easier

In a further customisation, the LIMS Client and Location data will be kept in sync with updates from the company's CRM

With the intended customisations, HydroChem will acquire a near perfect LIMS fit to requirements, something not that easily achieved in closed source proprietary LIMS
