Sample View Configuration

BikaLIMS provides a host of Sample and Analysis attributes not used by all labs, even in the same discipline. Select the ones your lab requires, and order them top to bottom on the Sample registration and view forms

On the Sample Registration page

Labmanagers do this configuration on the Sample registration form itself. Click the Manage Form Fields link on the form

On the Manage Sample Form Fields, select the fields you want on the form and drag them up or down to position them, and click Save

The Sample registration form renders accordingly

The selection is then applied throughout the system until the attribute list is edited again. All new Samples thereafter will be created in the new form. Historic ones keep their original shape

Sample views

Left in its default view, Sample views are quite cluttered with unused Sample attributes, e.g. for populous Bika Cannabis

The unnecessary fields can be hiden from the Manage Sample Form page, accessed from the icon at top right of the page's working area

Deselect fields you don't need and move the others into the order you want them. Fields in the prominent section are displayed at the top and given prominence

NB You have to have at least 1 Standard field else the [Save] button is not displayed

Number of columns

For better use of the space, also set the number of columns to 3 for both prominent and standard columns

Cleaned up:

You can also decide not to display only the prominent fields by default and then use the Expand button to show them when really necessary

To set this up, disable the 'Always show standard fields' checkbox
